I have been excited about this wedding from the very first time I met Tesha. I was shooting some marketing stuff for Gamma Phi Beta and the girls behind me were full of their usual comments about how much they liked my work, etc. I heard one say that, "I can't wait for her to shoot my wedding." I turned around trying to say something along the lines of "that's so sweet, please call me when you get engaged." The response I got was a startling, "NO! I already am engaged" with a hand presented to my face showing off a super awsome bling-y blinding engagement ring that she had just received the week before. I just love Tesha. She's sassy and smart and sweet - she's the kind of friend you keep forever. When I finally met Omar, I could see immediately he loved everything I did about her and more. Oh, how he can look at her when no one is watching. It melts my heart. We shot some jaw dropping engagement photos in Coronado, so I was beyond excited for this wedding. It was at the Ashley Castle (which I totally love) and it's with a really amazing (and pretty) couple??? I'm in heaven. I think my excited jittery anxious-but-in-a-good-way tendencies kicked in about a week early. We were all set and then Wednesday morning I had a tickle in my throat. By midnight that night I was sitting in the ER hearing a doctor tell me that I had a serious case of flu (not swine, but it was in the height of that whole scare) and that I'd have a fever over 101 for several days, needed bed rest and a strong suggestion for isolation. I just about died. I started crying then and there and explained my job and what I do. One of the nurses had even seen my work. My heart rate and blood pressure then went crazy (I think it was all the emotions) and they decided I should get admitted. to. the. hospital. I begged and pleaded no. We all finally decided that they'd give me some fluids and recheck everything in 4 hours. 3 liters of fluids later, I got to go home after swearing to the doctor I would not shoot more than 3 hours at the wedding and that I would wear a mask while I did it. 30 someodd hours later, I showed up to the wedding with the cutest yellow mask you've ever seen. NOT! Luckily, Tesha had a first look with Omar which helped so much. I was able to shoot them, the getting ready and the bridal party before the guests arrived. I snuck out right before the ceremony and no one got all panic-y about the girl in the mask. Mike came and helped Jess with the ceremony and Laura Siivola came to the rescue to take over as main shooter. We have worked together a ton and she got awesome stuff! Despite the circumstances, I am very pleased how it all came out. God has blessed me with some good photographer friends and for their help I am truly thankful. Ok enough blabbering, let's get to the pictures! Fragrant and pretty? yes please!
I can't decide what I like more, super cute details or catching a moment no one else sees.
The boys getting ready....
While the girls hung out.
I'm not sure, but I think feeling like a goddess in your wedding dress should be a requirement. Smoking hot! Someone call Tyra, Tesha could show her a thing or two.
Their first look was awesome! Omar was way more relaxed as soon as he was with her.
This totally rocks my socks.
Their bridal party was sooo much fun!
I know it goes against tradition seeing each other before the ceremony, but I have to say that 99% of the time, it's more emotional at the altar when you do it that way.
I'm not going to post it because she'd get all weird about it, but Jessica not only shot, but she also sang at the ceremony! She's got an amazing voice.
They had a fun and crazy reception too.
The afforementioned bling. Holla!
Party people!
Laura took them ouside for a quick little night shoot and I think it looks awesome!
Tesha and Omar, thank you so much for allowing all of us to be part of your wedding. Your images are incredible!
