It only took me 3.5 years and 4 rough drafts of my wedding album to get it done. Even then, I kind of cheated. The photographers reading this will understand how you can make a beautiful album for one of your clients with no problem and have it match their style and personality, but how when it comes to yourself, you almost have too many ideas that your brain overloads and explodes and then you just don't want to touch it anymore. Any guess what happened with me? You are right, my brain exploded. How did I cheat? I got my album through La Vie! This album company does NOT let you design the album. You get to pick the images you want and that's it. The rest is up to them. No input! As in ZERO. That was super scary to me, but every sample I've seen has been so amazing and magical (not to mention expensive) that it took me time to warm up to the idea. After 4 drafts that never went to print and space on my harddrive begging to be had, I finally decided to do it. Mike saw the samples at WPPI with me and agreed that even though they are expensive, they are well worth the cost. I sent my images in, fingers crossed, hoping that I would love it. No real surprise here, but I LOVE it. I actually cried when I got it. Everything about it is so perfect and I seriously can't find anything about it I would change. The craftmanship is insane. The different paper and inlays and folds just boggle our minds. It is everything I knew I wanted but didn't know I wanted at the same time. I love it, cherish it, and just couldn't be more thrilled. Some photographer friends asked for a video, so Mike put this together for me. He knew he wanted music in the background and wouldn't you know, he picked our first dance song. Such a sweetie to me. So if you wonder what I personally chose for a wedding album here it is! Plus you can kind of see what my wedding looked like. If you are a client and are intersted in this album, while it is not part of my regular offerings, I'm more than happy to share the love. Just let me know and I can get you an estimate.
